1.13.2021 ~ New Moon: Release, Reflect, and Rejuvenate

Today both the Sun and Moon align in the Cardinal earth sign of Capricorn. Being that the Moon is ruled by Cancer and Capricorn is in detriment to it, Capricorn’s driving ambition becomes a problem for the sensitive Moon – which represents emotions, intuition, and Divine feminine energy. (When a celestial body is in detriment it is said to be uncomfortable in that sign and tends to operate with the least strength.)

Six planets are in Earth signs: Sun, Moon, Venus, Pluto (all in Capricorn)  (WHEN will be free of this oppressive Capricornian energy!?!);  Mars and Uranus (in Taurus).
One planet is in a Water sign: Neptune (Pisces)
Three planets are in the Air sign of Aquarius: Mercury, Jupiter, and Saturn.
The element of Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) is not represented at all.
So we have a mix of Capricorn, Taurus, Pisces, and Aquarius – with a great amount of “heaviness” representative of all the Earth signs.

No wonder we’re seeing such blowback right now.

n. the unintended adverse results of a political action or situation

Additionally, this New Moon is conjunct Pluto (in Capricorn) causing depression, clouded judgement, intense emotions, and obsessive behavior. In Astrology Pluto symbolizes death, destruction, evolution, transformation, and rebirth. It is the “Great Revealer” shining a light on what lies beneath the surface and exorcising it, releasing buried power or basic truths.

Mars (Taurus) is square Saturn (Aquarius), bringing frustration, bitterness, rebellion, and inhibition.

Mercury (Aquarius) is square Uranus (Taurus) making us out of control, unpredictable, cranky, quick-tempered, hasty, and fragmented.

Old Capricornian conservative timelines are being rapidly overwritten by the progressive frequencies of Saturn/Jupiter in Aquarius.

See my Post of 12.20.2020.

Normally New Moons are about setting new intentions for the coming month, but this is a healing New Moon encouraging us to release, reflect, and rejuvenate. Tremendous change is in the air – along with tension, anger, and frustration – so tune out the external noise and tune in to your intuitive side. Shy away from conflict. Rise above the fray.

The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon (in the 24th degree of Capricorn) is “A woman entering a convent.”

“Come back to a quiet voice, no matter what. Come back to a voice that wants to heal.”
