9 of Swords

Mercury in Virgo:  The Planet of War in this Air sign of communication results in words being used as the weapon of choice.
Number 9:  The cycle of returns:  when any number is multiplied by 9 and the result is reduced to a single digit, it always equals 9 (like a boomerang coming right back at you).

There’s an issue that’s causing pain psychologically. This particular situation has come up time and time again; each time it leaves a wound (or cut) on your psyche.

psyche
n.  the human soul, mind, or spirit

Instead of getting all Zen and exorcising any negativity, you have permission today to get as angry and vengeful as you want. Think evil, do evil, plot revenge – but only in your mind. If you need to “get physical” go for a walk, hit a punching bag, or find some isolated place where you can rehearse your Primal Scream. Now…don’t you feel better?

This ethereal Vampyress obviously decided to take matters into her own hands by slaughtering the enemy with her deadly sword (Note the symbol for the planet Mars on its hilt). The only thing better than the 9 of Swords is the 10 of Swords – one more weapon to wield! Bwaahaha.. The Death’s Head Hawkmoth (which has landed on her gown) can be one of three species in the genus Acherontia – which takes its name from the Acheron, the River of Pain in the underworld; and symbolically is considered a bad omen. Kinda all ties in, huh?

8 of Wands
“Lord of Swiftness.”

Mercury in Sagittarius:   As the Messenger of the Gods, Mercury represents ideas, thought processes, logic and reasoning, restlessness, and all types of communication. Astrologically, Sagittarius is considered curious, broad-minded, philosophical, optimistic and enthusiastic, restless, and a truth-seeker.
Number 8: Movement, action, accomplishment, change, recognition, and success.

The 8 of Wands demands swift, decisive action – NOW. You’ve felt restrained or confined for too long – time to spread your wings and fly! If you’ve been procrastinating about starting (or finishing) something, today is the day for action. Let the wind at your back propel you forward. Since the 8 of Wands is also representative of communication and truth-seeking, you may find yourself in conversations where differences of opinion are being voiced. Let the broad-mindedness of Sagittarius be your guide and listen with an open mind. But don’t forget to stand-up and let your voice be heard, as well. Make sure no misunderstandings or mis-communications arise as a result. Be honest and direct, clear and thoughtful – the outcome will be well worth it.

God, I love this card – it’s absolutely one of my favorite in the deck. The movement, the fierceness, the intent…did I mention how HOT he is? (He should be part of my Beefcake series.) The symbol for Sagittarius is clearly seen on the Vampyre’s necklace and the front of the (crypt? wall?) he’s vaulting over, while Mercury’s glyph forms his belt buckle. This gorgeous Vampyre is definitely taking no prisoners.

8 of Pentacles
“Become Master of your skills.”

Sun in Virgo:  It’s all about perfection, organization and diligent work when the Sun’s in detail-oriented Virgo
Number 8: A Mystic number, 8 is tied to the higher vibration of Strength and signifies personal power, confidence, and the courage to overcome obstacles and break down barriers in order to transform your life.

Like this Sorcerer, the 8 of Pentacles represents success and mastery gained through diligence, focused energy, and the deliberate cultivation of your skills. You will benefit from your organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. In addition, unlike the 3 of Pentacles, this card points to work of a solitary nature.

Ace of Pentacles
“Which areas of your life could use more enrichment?”

Number 1:   New beginnings, creativity, organization, success, self-reliance, and tenacity

In the Earthly suit of Pentacles, success is measured in the physical and material realm. Just as seedlings need more than soil and water to flourish, “fertilization” will go a long way towards harvesting the abundant rewards you seek.

5 of Wands
“Think outside the box.”

Saturn in Leo:  At odds with each other astrologically, Saturn tempers the expansive and warm nature of Leo just enough to help build the framework necessary for the expression of personal talent and creativity
Number 5: Dynamic, energetic, unpredictable, independent, and restless

Face challenges head-on. Try different approaches. Use new techniques.
