PEPPER ‘Bulgarian Carrot’ (Heirloom)

Both the Japanese Eggplant and Bulgarian Carrot Pepper* were planted last May (gives you an idea how mild our winter was here in Silicon Valley). Not only did these babies survive without any protection from the (occasional) frosty night, but the eggplant started bearing fruit in February! I’ve also got a ‘Chipotle’ pepper plant (again, from last year) that’s covered in fruit…

*Usually I have to plant this heirloom pepper every season because they’ve never “overwintered” before (even with a frost blanket).
